orthSide Foundation                  North-Side Foundation is working with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to handle donations as well as help develop a better foundation to serve the greater Kansas City area.

It takes a village to raise a teen, but it only takes one volunteer to make a difference

New Life/Gang Intervention

Anti-Murder Rally for Guns off the streets

Ok, if you haven’t noticed there has been so much violence in the

Kansas City area, so much it seems that someone is just handing out guns to these kids. Something has to be done, not sure what but until you apply the medicine the wound can’t begin the healing process. North-Side is starting a buy back the Gun Program; this program will allow us to pay cash to anyone who would like to get rid of a gun. Now in order to do this we have to have money, money means Donations; if you know me I have not and will not hound anyone for money but this is a very important subject that has hit close to home too many times. I will keep everyone up to date with further details. For donations click the donations link above; the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation will put all money into an account that the GKCCF overseas and manages for North-Side and it is tax deductible.

FYI! THIS IS NOT an anti gun rally this is an anti-murder/get the guns out of the wrong hands rally.

Thank You for your time.

A New Life is what the majority of the kids locked up in Detention centers want but there a several key elements/questions that hold them back.

  1. Where do they get started?
  2. How do I get past my home boys to start a new life?
  3. Who will take a chance on me with my record?
  4. What if my parents don’t care; will I be back on the streets?
  5. I don’t really care about any thing or any body?
  6. What if the kid has a mental disorder, how will this be approached?

These key elements are targeted to begin the road to recovery in the life of a young teen. We start off by examining the background of a particular teen and write out a plan to help them be successful when they get out. With the assistance of the Jackson County Juvenile Detention center we are making great strides in morally, spiritually and socially rehabilitating teens to be productive citizens. When they are released they will have the necessary tools and opportunity to make decisions that will lead them on the right path.

We provide intervention counseling that targets specific issues, we also provide them with clothing for Job search; we teach them that they have to make the decision to stay on a straight path. With the help of the parents and parole officers we keep close contact with every teen that is released and has entered the program. North-Side could not do this with out the aid of other community organizations, donors and volunteers.

North-Side would like to thank everyone that has unconditionally said I will

Do you have a short shout out or story pertaining to Keith; send it to costomerservice@northsidefoundation.net and we will post it on the websight.
  • When I was out in the streets doing my thug thizzle Big Keith came to me and asked me what I wanted out of life. At the time I didn’t know I just wanted to keep doing what I was doing; then he went into topics that I would have never thought about. Finances, retirement, future of this country, family, stock market and countless others. I was shocked at what he said and how he brought it to me; I was a thug selling drugs and robbing people and now I am holding down a job and thinking about college. It's a struggle but I feel much better about my future. I suggest that more teens try talking to Big Keith and maybe he can drop some knowledge on you.

  •

The JazzMan Keith has always been a cool dude; he never judges me but he never hesitated to tell me when I was not doing the right thing. I still struggle and he is still there with me through my struggle. I can call him any time of the day or night and he will be there. Thanks to the JazzMan; bring back JazzMan Entertainment!

I look up to Keith because he is real and still the same age as me. He has real issues that he deals with and helps everyone try and not go through what he did; also Keith B.K.A. My Teddy Bear has been up front and honest; no sugar coating the problems but walking thought my issues with me. He told me one day that he sometimes struggles to stay sain with all he deals with on a daily basis but the love for the kids and his son and family is all he needs to keep going. Taught me to love my self first and then spread that through out my community and everyday life. Thanks Teddy Bear lol! I love you.

  •

I met Keith at work and as I talked to him over the months I have noticed that he is passionate about teens and bettering his community. I am a parent of a troubled teen and even some of the advice has been helpful to my relationship with my son and getting him off the street.

How Can You Help Us

Our goal is to be able to provide clothing for the teens coming out of Juvie if needed; some of these kids are locked up simply because of their status on the streets. Other items needed are basic school supplies of all types.

How Can We Help You?

We can help by eliminating the red tape by getting down to business and getting your life and your teens life back to a family environment.

A large part of gang prevention is the disruption of gang affiliations.  Keeping a released offender who is known gang member away from previous gang associations is a valuable and successful way to lower the probability that the offender will return to “gang life.”
